Human Circulating MicroRNA-1 and MicroRNA-126 as Potential Novel Indicators for Acute Myocardial Infarction

چکیده
Circulating miRNAs have been shown as promising biomarkers for various pathologic conditions. The aim of this study was to clarify that circulating miR-1 and miR-126 in human plasma might be useful as biomarkers in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In our study, after pre-test, two candidate miRNAs were detected by using real-time RT-PCR. Cardiac troponin I (cTnI) concentrations were measured by ELISA assay in plasma from patients with AMI (n=17) and healthy subjects (n=25), simultaneously. Increased miR-1 and decreased miR-126 in plasma from patients with AMI after the onset of symptoms compared with healthy subjects were found. A remarkable finding in this study is that miR-1, miR-126 and cTnI expression levels exhibited the same trend. Our results suggest that the plasma concentrations of miR-1 and miR-126 may be useful indicators for AMI.

Evaluation of Extracellular Circulating Human MicroRNA-197 as a Target Biomarker in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease
Background: Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) refers to the reduction or blockage of all or part of the coronary arteries due to the process of atherosclerosis or the presence of a clot. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of serum miR-197 as a diagnostic index in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: In this study, 100 patients with CAD were selected. Extraction of...
متن کاملMicroRNAs as a New Molecular Biomarker for Diagnosis and Prognosis of T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL): A Systematic Review
MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are small endogenous non-coding RNAs that regulate the expression of protein-encoding genes at the post-transcriptional level. Several studies have described the role of miRNAs in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), including tumor suppressor and oncogenic miRNAs. Down-regulation of miRNA expression is a prominent feature of human malignancy. This down-regulati...

We read with interest the article “Human Circulating MicroRNA-1 and MicroRNA-126 as Potential Novel Indicators for Acute Myocardial Infarction” by Guangwen Long et al [1]. The authors gathered blood samples from 17 patients and 25 healthy adults at Tongji Hospital between October 2009 and May 2010. They found the ability of the miR-1 score to differentiate the AMI group from the control group, ...
متن کاملPlasma MicroRNA-126-5p is Associated with the Complexity and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Patients with Stable Angina Pectoris.
BACKGROUND Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major problem worldwide. As an endothelium-enriched microRNA (miRNA), miR-126 has been reported to serve as a potential biomarker of acute myocardial infarction. However, the relationship between miR-126 and the severity of CAD remains unknown. This study was designed to test whether circulating miR-126 levels are associated with the severity of CAD...
متن کاملCirculating microRNA-19a as a Potential Novel Biomarker for Diagnosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a serious cardiovascular disease. Investigating new susceptibility genes for effective methods of early diagnosis of AMI is important. In the current study, peripheral blood miR-19a levels were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction. Significant differences and logistic correlation analyses were carried out by grouping of disease types and stratific...
